There's always an argument that money can't buy happiness, I had written a post about this in october 2007, can money buy happiness? if money can't buy happiness, the same fact goes to happiness can't buy money. 

If money can't buy happiness, what can? Are you sastify with your current job? If you does, on what level? Money is definitely important to survive but there's a need to balance equally between Money and Happiness in long run. Most of time the job we are working now might not be the ideal job we are looking for and many of us fall into the line not by choice but by accident. We accepted the job, learned and stay in the job because of benefits and higher pay, we believe that we don't have any options left to choose.

If you choose to stay in the job merely because the job give what you want and moreover it give you certains level of comfort to perform the task with colleagues you are familiar, routine tasks you have been doing all the while and salary that you can survive, but most of the time, this doesn't ensure you for a lifetime happiness. Till then, do you think a degree is still necessary? A college degree only open up you to the scope in the field you are expert at, but restricted you to other fields to discover. Yet, it came to surprise that most of us doesn't really work on what their qualification for that line and we are taught to major at what field by influenced (by friends, relatives, parents and media) that guarantee a good future at that point of time.

After spending four to five years for a degree and the cost involved, we believe that we love this line and journey, but after working for five to ten years down the road, we lost the faith that it guarantee our happiness. We accept whatever we can take and salary we get, keep convincing ourself that there's no choice in our life and this is suppose life are meant to be, we are locked in here and no way out.  If we keep doing what we already have and what we already know, it's just a routine, it doesn't make us happy. It doesn't fulfill the dream of what we could be. We accept it because we believe that's the way life is.

So, what is money and happiness? If you are given a choice to determine your life with money and happiness, which one would give you more sastifaction. Looking at what we expect and finding out what actually value us most by giving rating and deem most important can give you piece of sastifaction. In fact, the term "money can't buy happiness" is depend on how you give rating to your happiness and money.

Have you played this game before? I have long heard about the existence of the board game but I had never play them before. I got the Egames 101 & 202 (you can see the screenshot here) from a friend and started playing it few month ago. Egames 101 & 102 really allowed me to experiment different scenarios dealing with money in a virtual environment, apart from getting to experiment safely, it also teaches me the fundamentals of money. Since it's computer games, you don't have a hard time getting others interested in playing the boardgames, you can actually played against computers.

If you are in the midst of getting started to get money working for you and aren't good in saving, you can get some clue from the games how to start off using different strategies at your choice. If you are new to stock option, you can actually get some basic fundamental concepts of trading stocks from the gameplay. Isn't that interesting?

Let's take a brief look into the game, in version 101, you can choose small deal(under $5000) or big deal(above $5000), while in version 202, it's either cash flow or capital gain. When I first started, I would always go for cash flow as I wanted to enter the rat race as soon as possible, but given that you may not have a lot of money at the beginning, I would look for capital gains, so that I can afford a bigger deals, given that majority of capital gains are stock purchases, you may either lose money in your investment or earn from there (you gonna take the risk). If you don't do that and play it safe, you may go round and round before you run across a deal that you can afford. Therefore, you need to have cash on hand, pretty much like real life, if you don't have money, even a good opportunity comes, you may not have chance to grab. If you don't start out with decent amount of cash on hand, you may not win the game fast or you may not achieve your financial goals soon.

Lastly, the game has taught use that no matter you are soldier, teacher or a rich doctor. You can win the game (financial independent) starting anywhere. It's not how much you earn that make the different, it's how you manage your money that make the different. A great learning environment that is good to apply some of those principles in your own life. Enjoy !

However, in the past 2 years, millionringgithomepage is just a blog that wrote about day to day life when it failed its attempt to be a pixels selling site in Malaysia. It has long being a crap blog that has no direction  and theme, there was no plan and goals setting for millionringgithomepage. Few months ago before writting this post, I have been reading a lot of motivational and financial self-help books. I decided to make a change on a new direction to summarized all that I had learned from months of reading to be posted in millionringgithomepage.

The blog post will be my personal exercise, to see my thoughts on a written format and hope that it would encouraged me to pay off my debt as well as saving money to develop investment attitude in my life. I hope that my blog post will be useful for others and if not, I would appreciate your valueable comment for improvement.

It's time to change, this blog is about sharing information and you will not find any topics related to multi level marketing, get rich schemes or any hot tips about stock and investment fund. It's just a down to earth blog sharing topics related to managing money, debt elimination, personal development, financial planning, practical investment towards life riches. I will provide you with the information that I google on the web for latest topics regarding financial tools, articles, events or seminar to share with you. Instead of that I will occasionally post reviews of books, magazines, products and software.
