I find SMS very impersonal. For example if someone wishes me happy birthday or says I love you by SMS it doesn't do much for me. It is a cold, lazy and cheap way of expressing yourself.

If that's the case, I guess you miss another fun of romantic. There're many ways to get into romantic, sms is just another method. Mix and match and creativity make them perfect.
