My English is not perfect? So Sue me …

Posted on 12 November 2006

Please do not get offended with the title and please forgive a 1 month old blogger who is trying to get himself improve. Blogging isn't that easy as I always thought; due to blog is something that uses to be updated frequently and it could be access by all walks of life from different country, culture and profession. It's inevitable that some people will find it very hard to comprehend what I was trying to express in some of my post for being an IT person who read and write code more than writing anything in English so long.

Sometimes critique and comment is good. I do received some comment which I did not published it out for some reason and also some of my post which tagged into social bookmark were getting comment about hardly to comprehend what I was writing. Is it true?

So, I started to think; what's the point writing when people can't really understand? Spending hours or days to get content to post and people don't get what you are writing about. So I went back to a link that I find it very helpful and is given by an experience blogger –> 10 ways to improve your blogging through practice

Improving writing in blog not just helps you to write better but it could be helpful in our job as well. It is also another way to show respect to our reader.

Having to get a blog is not just about content and design, it's about quality of the content. So, I have started to get myself improve by using some application to spell check grammar and spelling from now and will read back my previous post to see if there is any improvement 3 months from now. Haha..hope it works.

I personally think this phrase from the link is true –> Each post you write has the potential to not only be a post that impacts others - but one that you can learn something from as a blogger.

Well, I am glad that I am lot more better than the one in the video (funny), have fun and enjoys.

Nobody is perfect and have to start from somewhere.

Even myself, after almost 1 1/2 years of blogging, is just getting a feel on how to do up good content posting. Learning from others like Problogger is a good way to start. Keep on practising.

    Practice makes perfect

From what I read on your writing in this post, you need to polish up your usage of tenses :)

I'm Chinese educated as well, and definitely understand the hard effort it takes to write proper English. Writing decent English is undeniably beneficial for your career.

    BIG BS.

    Completely bullshit.

Why do you defend yourself thusly? What is there left for you to defend? Defence with the fact that you are just a "beginner" is nothing more than a bloody excuse.

England no perfekt? Then practise by blogging better quality content for goodness sake. Instead of ranting here and defending yourself.

Personally, I feel your content is run of the mill. Upgrade your knowledge first for goodness sake. READ MORE BOOKS.

Malaysians don't read. Which is actually a pity. The thing about you humans is that you immediately start out on the fast track to get lots of money. Without the proper support, a building falls too.

So, please, do yourself a favor, do the rest of the internet a favor. Go read up more so you can actually post quality content. And England no perfekt? Don't worry. I'll sue of course. Afterall, England must be very the powderful mah

Anon, seem like my post offended you in anyhow. I would like to say sorry if my post offended you in anyway and thanks for taking time to comment on my blog.

I would like to clarify that I do not have any intention to defend anything; I am just sharing my thought on my blog. If you think it's defending something. I am sorry, you misunderstood.

Ranting and defending? I just clarify this above, I was just sharing my thought.

Thanks for notifying me that my content run of the mill, I personally don't think so, I do receive some good feedback on some post. Appreciate if you can share your link so that I may take a look on your blog what is called quality content. I would have appreciated that.

Malaysians? You mean you are not from Malaysia, I would like to clarify that my blog does not represent all Malaysian to be fair, please treat it individually. There are some Malaysian blog which is good. By the way, I do read books and reading need not be from books, it can be from other blogs, articles and others source like wikipedia.

Humans? You mean you are not human, that’s weird. Start out on the fast track to get lots of money? Ermm..I personally think I am not violating laws or rules that prevent me from doing that? And I did not do all this overnight. Support and building falls? If I don't try how I know it works or not? Practice makes perfect. Anyhow I think this will leave it for individual to think off, not all people think the same.

Thanks for the advice and concern. The internet is for everyone. Sure I would do my best for my OWN site. You seem to be an experience blogger, I personally think that I would have salute someone with Pagerank 6 and above which is consider elite group to have such comment to someone with 1 month old blogging experience like me. Do you mind to share your link?

Thanks for your comment after all, no harsh feeling.

bcgoh = focus on your flair for writing first. do not bother about your content till you get the basic tenets of writing down. i.e, structure, grammar, tenses etc. then only focus on content once you can write properly.

Anon. = fuck off and give the guy a break. there's enough pompous assholes around the world who do not give people trying to learn english a break. bcgoh's trying. that's all that matters.
