Bill and bill coming, money is going out and never refill. I am same like you maybe, I’m always looking for quick things I can do that will improve my financial situation. Maybe something you can do it once and must quick, so that you can sit back and watch it slowly achieve your goals over the long haul.

The 5 things below which may help you to improve your financial situation face each month. Think about it, those things can be done in just 15 minutes and you won't lose anything doing it. Do it once and sit back to see the result which will moves slowly and put significant money in your pocket. Nothing to lose but just patient and time invested that will slowly fill your wallet.

1. Cut down your Credit Card usage and Interest Rate

Take out your wallet, pull out your credit card and flip it over and call the number at the back. Key in those necessary code and get to speak to a real person (an operator), tell the operator that you're considering switching credit cards to other bank which offer 0% balance transfer, ask them if they can reduce their rate to keep you as a customer. You can go further by asking them to get you to the supervisor and tell them about their bad service and long queue and the cash deposit machine always spoil. It won't always work but if work, it can save you alot and well worthy. By the way, no matter how you react, the operator will always entertain you politely, this is service.

2. Look out for customer reward program
If you shop regularly at a shop, you should look out for their customer rewards program, sign up for the program especially if it's free and if it's online. For example: Jusco Card, Borders, I-Setan Card, Hai-O card, Bonuslink, Real Rewards and much more to be named. You will get constantly 20% and 30% discount (points earned) for selected items which you frequently purchase or you may get cash rebate as well. You lose nothing but just a few minute to fill up the form and submit.

3. Check your tires for recommended maximum tire pressure
Petrol is killing and estimated increase of 50 cents next year. This is the time to go to your car and get the car's manual and flip through the pages to look for the recommended maximum tire pressure which is the most suitable pressure to your car. Put that in your memory and carry air gauge each time you visit to the petrol station. The next time when you're in the petrol station, just check the pressure in each tire, air up to the maximum. A simple math here, for every 8 PSI you add to any tire, you improve your petrol usage by 1%, most of the car tire is 10-12 PSI below the recommended maximum. If you airing up your tires, you can actually save 6% of you petrol usage. If petrol costs RM1.92 a litre and your car need 10 km per litre (for easy calculation) over your next 10,000 km, you can actually save approximately RM115.

3. Cut, cut and cut down your monthly bills for thing that you don't use
Paying for gym where you don't visit regularly? Watching Astro ESPN all time while subscribe to all include package? Subscribe to unlimited text messages or unlimited phone call or unlimited broadband while you are not using it unlimited? Think about it, you could have throw your money into salt sea. What you can do actually is dig out your last month's bill which worth checking and tick those that you do not need and cut it. Oh Yea, if you have those caller ring tone or any other stuff on your handphone which you think is not needed (those unnecessary service), you can cut it. When you finish cutting down all the items, you can actually find yourself saving maybe a lot or maybe enough for you to fill another full tank petrol for the rest of the weeks.

cfl4. "Tak Nak (NO)" Light Bulb, Yes to CFLs and Yes to Programmable Thermostat.
If your house has a lot light bulb, change them to CFLs even if they’re not burnt out. A bulb use 75 watt which is equivalent to 26 watt CFL. Why pay 50 watt more for something similar. From time to time you will save a lot into your pocket.
If you don't know what is programmable thermostat, you got to get one, a programmable thermostat lets you define a program for temperature change in your house throughout the day, which basically means your air conditioner and/or furnace won’t run during the day when you’re away from home or during the night when you’re asleep. This will save drastically on your energy bills. Get one to install yourself and if you don't know, get a technician, don't end up your life saving just a few buck. :)

5. Open a saving account with no ATM card and no internet access activated.
You may curious why no ATM card and no internet access, this is to prevent your itchy hand to withdraw money or transfer money online (This is up to you). If you don't know how much to save? Why not I suggest you to save the amount you've save from what you read above. Set a goal to save not much but RM30 a week. If the above saving tips can help you save RM 120, within a year you can save RM1440, maybe it's enough for a vacation to Hong Kong 4 days 3 nights trip. :)
