Do you still remember what is your first application launch was when you first hook up with a computer connected to internet? If your answer is IRC or ICQ, than you should be around the same era with me. Probably most Malaysian teen, back to old day, around early 90's will hook up with mIRC chat or ICQ. At that point of time, you could see alot of youngster or probably adults chatting on IRC or ICQ in cyber cafe. I use to get addicted to IRC in old days. That's how thing changing our life, we ain't seeing it anymore or heard anybody saying it anymore. It get out of trend, it was being replaced. Seem like it is inevitable that we need to admit that something will get bored and will be replaced sooner or later. Everything come with a reason, the dead of mIRC could be the cause of instant messenger such as MSN messenger or Yahoo messenger. mIRC and ICQ was being killed by MSN messenger or Yahoo messenger or Skype. Do you agree with that?
Sometimes we might not notice the changed until we realise that we actually changed. We change our way of expressing ourself through Blog, we change our way to communicate with friend through instant messenger, we change our way of sharing photo through photo sharing website (flickr, mutiply, picasa or yahoo album), we change our way knowing friends through friendster or hi5, we change our way reading news at thestar.com.my, we change our way of watching movie or listening to song downloaded from p2p, we change our way watching movie clip through youtube or metacafe, we change our way to absorb knowledge through online forum, we change our way to pay bill or check our balance through online banking and we change our way to get a job through jobstreet or jobsdb. It's even more to list than that, it's a change that sometimes we even not notice that what is that being replaced by. It could be something new introduce into your life, no doubt that all this crap can only be describe in one sentence, technology changing our life.
So, what is the next hoo haa on the internet booming like hot cake growing like mushroom after rain? Blog, so, everyone was talking about blog, sometimes the change is coming to a point where you can't resist, 27% of online surfer are reading blog everyday. Probably owning a blog is just like owning an email. It's a trend, I own a blog because it was like anybody else, to express myself or just a website to showcase my stuff, I am on track with the trend, if I don't own a blog, i still read them and getting on par to the trend. What was it going to replaced blog is still too early to ask and a big question mark to answer.
